ART IS NOT
ALWAYS ABOUT PRETTY THINGS
IT'S ABOUT

TO US, AND
HOW OUR LIVES
ARE AFFECTED

Terry was educated in an Art School , studying the disciplines of Drawing, Design, Painting and Art History. After she matriculated, she studied Graphic Design and also qualified as a Fashion Designer. At the Graduation Fashion Parade, two of her designs were chosen to open the show. She also took on Photography, complimenting her Art, and has won several Medals and Certificate of Merits in the local Photography Salons.

In the early 80's Terry got involved in the Mmabana Cultural Centre in Leherutshe, a small rural village . Mmabana in the black language Tswana, is - Mother of the Children. The Cultural Centre was the brainchild of former Bophuthatswana president - Lucas Mangope. To him it was 'A gift to His People' Tutors were employed to
empower the underprivileged people with skills, to enable them to provide for themselves, becoming entrepreneurs. At the centre, Terry educated the local people with sewing and designing skills. Empowering them as seamstresses with basic fashion designing skills. Terry also trained physically disabled people the skills of patchwork and quilting. Restoring their dignity by enabling them to generate an income for themselves.

Moving to Johannesburg, Terry decided to pursue her Art Career. She is currently teaching Art Classes from her home based studio. She runs weekly classes, and conducts shorter workshops in specific art techniques on a regular base.

She captures the beauty in people , fleeting moments and nature.

Her style is easy, uncomplicated, delicate , and modern. Exploring different mediums, pushing the boundaries in many ways.

Her delicate, yet modern paintings decorates many homes, Medical rooms and Corporate buildings. She has done many commissions for portraits, capturing the essence of their personalities.

Terry's art is featured in several Art Galleries in South Africa, and she has participated in many Group exhibitions. In 2016 she had a very successful solo exhibition in France, selling a lot of her paintings, and has been invited to exhibit again at the gallery in the near future.
