ABOUT THE ARTIST :
My name is Michelle Engelbrecht,
I was born in Bloemfontein in the Free State Province of South Africa.
I love looking at art and also started painting with Acrylic in 2008.
My Husband and I paint together as a hobby.
We learn as we paint and we did not have any classes.
Learning by trial and error.  Learning how to mix the different colours together to make a different colour and learning how the layers of colour will react on one another is very interesting.  I always try to improve myself and to try different media.
That is why I also educated myself to sketch. Using sketching as a way for me to train my eyes to see the different shades better and to try and capture it in my sketching and painting.
I only started to experiment with Pastel Pencil earlier this year.
It is very interesting to see how different the result can be depending on to the medium you use.
I love to paint animals, nature and people and always try to do my best to capture the animal or persons spirit in the painting..!
Hope you enjoy looking at some of my paintings.
Would love to just be able to paint every day..
